CCIE Routing and Switching Exam Extended – COVID-19 Impact

Cisco announces the CCIE community about the extension of the CCIE Lab Exam and CCIE Routing and Switching certification. Exam is been extended to 27th April 2020 from 24th February 2020. Candidates who wish to appear for the exams can take the current CCIE lab examination before 27th April 2020 and those who wish to appear for the new CCIE lab examination on or after 27th April 2020. As per the declaration from the World Health Organization regarding the outbreak of Coronavirus on 30th January 2020, Cisco has taken essential steps to coordinate the situation with a well-defined process initiative. Safety precautions have been followed in past weeks to control the situation to keep customers, employees and partners health top in the priority list. The Outbreak of coronavirus has affected the countries around the world. Economic growth has slowed down, disrupted supply chain due to shutting down of factories, oil demand and prices have gone high, sporting events have been postponed across Asia, Travel and tourism industry is facing hits. Lab exams are extended

As a safety precaution, Cisco decided to close some of the CCIE lab exam centres for a temporary period. Due to Virus outbreak, CCIE labs were closed from 1st February 2020 to 14th February 2020 in Hong Kong and Beijing. The timeline of the CCIE lab examinations affects the customers globally. Not just the ones from Beijing Or Hong Kong. People with existing travel restrictions around the world, within mainland China and other related circumstances.

Preventive Measures and Updates

Cisco is analysing the situation and trying to accommodate the customers who are most affected in the region and move them in the top of the priority list as seating might be limited. If you want to reschedule your exams, WAIT. Meanwhile, avoid travel to the testing centres from Mainland China if you have mentioned symptoms of illness for precautionary reasons. By March, Labs will reopen according to Cisco Corporate Guidelines. In case of any rescheduling, a voucher is provided.

As per the migration existing CCIE lab exams go live with new CCIE on 27th April 2020. A candidate must clear 350-401 ENCOR exam the CCIE Routing and Switching and the CCIE Routing and Switching lab exam to earn CCIE Routing and Switching between 24th February 2020 and 27th April 2020. The new CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure v1.0 lab exam goes live on 27th April 2020. The labs will be reopened by analysing the situation and when it is safe to do so. The CCIE lab examination will remain active until 26th April 2020.

CCIE Routing and Switching Exam certification
